I originally had a different color picked out, but it didn't come in gloss, and Brooke was pretty specific that it should be gloss. So, I exchanged the color I had originally for something comparable. I think I like it.
Once all the color was applied and dry, I added a black glaze around the details of the piece, and wiped it off with a damp rag. This proved both easier and more complicated than I had anticipated. It was very easy to apply, and took way less time than I had expected it to. However, due to the varying material and texture on the table, some areas were easier to remove the glaze than others. Also, in some areas, both the primer and paint came off. I'm assuming it's because of something I did wrong (probably due to impatience)...but I'm going to do a little touch up later, and I'm not worried! :D
It's not completely finished because I still haven't figured out the top uneven-ness...I'm brainstorming now. I am going to wait until everything is dry, then borrow an electric sander. I think I'll sand down the top, and possibly try to buy a liquid enamel paint that matches the color of the rest of the table. That ought to do the trick.
Speaking of the color...here are close ups of one of the doors! I love it! I can't wait until it's done!
It's Krylon's Cherry Red. More pictures to follow once it's all finished, but what do you think?
