Fred Claus

Tonight, we picked up Fred Claus.

What an interesting story so far. I'm really curious to how this "when a person becomes a saint, they freeze in time, as do their family, and their spouses" thing works out.

I really do like Vince Vaughn. OOoooh, and Rachel Weisz is in this too! I love her! It's funny to see her as a postal worker, though.

Goodness, VV talks fast. Come to think about it, he would have been great as the lead in Deck the Halls instead of Broderick.

I wasn't really amused with the Salvation Army santas battle scene. It shows how much of a creep Fred is, but wasn't (IMO) very funny.

By the way, I also like Paul Giamatti. I would have never thought of him as Santa, though.

I'm so far beyond creeped out by elf-ified John Michael Higgins.

Whoa...Santa's villiage is breathtaking!

I just looked at the full cast list on imdb, and was super impressed by all the people in this movie!

"Smurfie...very smurfie" - hahahaha! So, that line was funny, but I'm TOTALLY creeped out by all the tiny people with other people's super-imposed heads on them. This is one of those things that looks "believable" now, but will be a

OH MY GOSH...it's Luda!

Kevin Spacey too?!?!? Oooh, he's a good villain. Except he's so mean!

Okay, really? Does the beautiful girl elf have to have a super push-up bra? Is that really necessary? I mean, it's Elizabeth Banks, and she's gorgeous, but is it a requirement that they play that card? She'd still be beautiful if she were wearing normal elf clothes.

And again with the awkward super-imposed heads. I feel like I'm watching a slightly more advanced jib-jab.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAhahahahaha!!! Th "siblings anonymous" bit was so hilarious and brilliant! :D

I love the irony that "Lex Luther" is getting a Superman cape ^_^

So, this movie just skyrocketed in my approval for ending with a rendition of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World."

Wow, what a mixed bag. Overall, I really liked it. I liked that, though the movie seemed to emphasize toy production and distribution, they made it clear that it was important that kids knew someone somewhere was thinking about them and cared. That was a sweet sentiment. I really really liked this movie, and I think it'll make it into the annual rotation. The elf heads/faces REALLY freak me out, though. I'm surprised that I like the movie so much, because I disliked those so much. But I can get over it :)
I rate this film 3 sugar plums out of 5.

I'm beginning to wonder if you will rate anything below a 3.5 :)

Well, since I reserved the right to go back and change my scores, once I had a better idea of what I'm doing (although, I suppose I still don't, really - I'm obviously no Maltin), I've gone back and changed some scores :D
