I Can't Help Myself

As I mentioned already, my brain is exploding with ideas for our new house. I went to bed, intending to watch TV or something, and drift off to sleep, and found myself making a photoshop document, and making a plan for improvements to the curb appeal of our future home.

Here it is at present:

Here is my computer-embellished dream of what it could be:

The paint looks a lot more gray in these pictures. It's actually more of an off-white. I doubt budget would allow it right away, but a clean, crisp white would be nice eventually :)

The front door will be black, not white, but you wouldn't be able to see it in the picture if I made it black. Here it is in larger scale.

These awesome lights would be great outside, and have pretty solid reviews. Not only that, but they're only an impressive $39.98 for both of them!
I have some friends who have some neat decorative details on their garage, and I went to google for some for ideas. I came across this, and figured I could sort of recreate the windows on our future garage with some sort of enamel or high gloss paint. Wouldn't that be something if it looked as good as I think it could?

Throw on some shutters, black trim around the windows, and build railing to close in the front porch, and I'd say the house would be GORGEOUS!!!!

What say you?

P.S. You know what's awful? I'm almost hoping that the tree without any leaves in the front yard is dead, so I don't have to feel guilty about wanting to rip it up and plant a Bradford Pear in its place. I love them, and they have THE BEST colors during autumn, but our dogs love to eat the little...um...pears?...that fall off of it. I don't think it's probably very good for them in mass quantities...so the front yard would be a better place for a Bradford, if we got to have one.

Then we'd just need to attack the flower bed. Probably tear out the existing shrubs, and try something like this, maybe some of these, or these, possibly these, definitely some of this, and hopefully one of these. And that's just the front yard! ;)

Okay. Brain, TURN OFF. NOW.
Goodnight!

hahahaha, you are awesome! I love the lights you picked out - those would look great, especially if you do the white paint with black trim. i seriously want to pick a weekend (wherein i will take some vacation time on monday and friday around it) to come play in your yard with you - i would love to help you pull and plant green things! and yeah, it would be rocking just to see you!!

The boys trees are bradford pears, and it takes awhile before they sprout pears.

Thanks, Susan! :) Yes, please come visit! Being a pastor's wife has made travel and vacation a little more difficult than I had ever anticipated. I miss the East Coast (and you, of course!)

Ticia, that's probably true. But the dogs would spend a very long time at our old house foraging under the tree for the little round (I can only assume) pears, though they looked like berries. But the trees are too pretty not to have one at all (IMO)
